SMT placement machine maintenance and repair is the primary task of the entire PCBA manufacturing process, in particular the maintenance of machinery and electronic equipment, where mainly introduce the mechanical aspects of maintenance.

Mechanical maintenance includes maintenance of placement head, suction nozzle, air pressure, lubrication, etc. The following Sanjing will take everyone to learn more about SMT patch mechanical maintenance:

(1)Placement head

①Air channel one by one In order to ensure the accuracy and installation speed of the machine, it is required to clean the air channel regularly (blowing from the air filter assembly to the nozzle holder).

②Air filter: Take out the air filter from the air filter assembly once a week to check its pollution. If it is blocked by dust, it is recommended to replace it.

(2) Nozzle

① If dirt (such as solder) is stuck in the suction nozzle, the suction power will decrease. If there is dirt on the bottom surface of the nozzle, it will cause air leakage, and it will also cause the system to fail to recognize smaller components during image processing. So you need to clean the suction nozzle with alcohol and blow off the dust with a hair dryer (at least once a week).

②Check whether the rubber suction pad has cracks and pollution. (Note: Do not spill alcohol on the nozzle mark of the SMT placement machine when cleaning. If you accidentally spill it, wipe it off immediately.)

After cleaning the nozzle, be sure to apply silicone lubricant again. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the outer surface of the suction pad, and then wipe off the lubricant with a dry cloth to prevent deterioration of the rubber suction pad.

(3) Check the air pressure

This step mainly checks the performance of the vacuum exhaust pipe. First open the vacuum valve, and then block the top of the suction nozzle with your fingers to check whether the negative pressure is greater than 0.08MPa (600mmHg).

(4) Lubrication

① Lubricate the following parts once a month. X-axis ball screw, X-axis guide; y-axis guide, guide shaft, ball screw, adjusting screw; transmission guide shaft; placement head ball screw, linear passage, lubricating hole, multi-slot shaft; tray feeder Ball screws, sliding components, multi-slot shafts.

②Specified lubricant; equivalent to level 0 under JISK2220-1980 (level 0 refers to the permeability at 25°C from 355 to 385). (Note: Do not use too much lubricating oil. Otherwise, the lubricating oil will be splashed everywhere when the placement machine is running. When the lubricating oil contaminates the sensor, it will cause operation failure.)

In short, in all aspects of patch processing, every link must pay attention to details, such as the suction nozzle. If it is not maintained and cleaned on time, the accuracy of the suction nozzle will be affected.
